NRA Wins Anti-Corruption Commission’s Most Compliant Institution 2016 Award The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has on Friday December 9th named the NRA as the most compliant public sector institution of 2016 with regard implementation of anti-corruption measures, initiatives, policies and recommendations. The Awards Ceremony was part of the ACC’s celebration of International Anti-Corruption Day in a bid to motivate government institutions to be passionate about their responsibility to support the fight against corruption.

Four criteria were used to set up a grading system for the selection of the best two among the four institutions nominated. The criteria are compliance rate on NACS recommendations which involves the existence and functionality of an integrity management committee, compliance rate on asset declaration, compliance with ACC systems review recommendations and compliance/response rate on ACC referrals. The NRA was found to have met these key compliance indicators between 2014 and 2016 and scored the highest of the four institutions nominated. The Authority scored 68%. Presenting the award, the Deputy Commissioner of ACC commended the Authority for taking positive steps to fight corruption. He noted that the NRA is a viable partner to the ACC as demonstrated in the MoU that was signed in 2015 between the two institutions. The NRA was commended for promptly requesting and returning Asset Declaration Forms, having an effective and efficient integrity management committee and implementing anti-corruption recommendations.
