MANAGER, SECURITY & RISK (1)

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

A degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. with at least 5 years of experience in defining network security requirements for local and wide area networks, evaluation of approved network security product capabilities, configuring standard communications protocols, detecting, and analyzing network vulnerabilities, and developing proper computer system security solutions.

 

CORE COMPETENCIES

Advanced knowledge of security management, risk management, and a firewall. Extensive knowledge of the security of architecture, electronic data communications, network/data, electronic commerce, and other related areas to provide computing security and integration services to Authority computer users.

  • Knowledge of ISO 27000 (IS027K) standards guidance on designing, implementing, and auditing Information Security Management Systems to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the information assets.
  • Experience in a multi-cultural work environment.
  • Experience with Security Information Event Management Tools (SIEM), Vulnerability Management Tools, and Intrusion Prevention Tools. 
  • Experience with fundamentals of IT Security & ability to apply risk management principles.
  • Strong communication skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research the latest information technology security trends.
  • Monitor NRA’s networks for security breaches and investigate violations when they occur.
  • Help to design, implement, and maintain the organization’s cybersecurity plan.
  • Develop and direct implementation of security standards and best practices for the organization.
  • Direct the installation and use of security tools (e.g., firewalls, data encryption), to protect sensitive information.
  • Recommend security enhancements to IT Management.
  • Help computer technicians, end-users when they need to install or learn about new security products and/or procedures.
  • Ensure that IT security audits are conducted periodically or as needed (e.g., when a security breach occurs).
