"The NRA in collaboration with the ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Task force, the Commission on Customs and Taxation together with representatives of the Mano River Countries have undertaken a spot visit to Customs posts in Jendema and Bo Waterside on the border between Sierra Leone and Liberia.
The visit is part of an objective to discuss the status of the implementation of the ECOWAS ETLS in the Mano River Countries and eventually adopt the possibility of constructing a joint border post for Sierra Leone and Liberia. The border post will ease trade facilitation and other administrative processes between the two countries.
The ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme(ETLS)taskforce was created as an adhoc consultative body under the authority of the President of the ECOWAS Commission with the objective of consolidating the ECOWAS regional market notably through the application of ECOWAS rules of origin and continued efforts to remove non tariff barriers, and to promote the community's industrial policy."
